Less posed.
More between the poses.

Event and portrait photographer. I disappear when you need me to. I’m there when you need me to be. And I grab the frames that tell the story.

The whole job

A snapshot is a record.
A photograph is a story.

Anyone with a phone can capture the day. Framing it is the work. That’s what separates photography from a record in time. It is the only thing I sell.

How I work

A method,
not a script.

I learned this from the newsroom: interview first, frame second. The pre-call before a session, even a quick portrait, changes how the day moves. By the time we lift the camera, I already know what kind of session you want.

01

A pre-call to learn who you are.

Before we ever set up a camera, I want to know how others describe you. Are you the joker, the serious one, the lovey couple, the bold one? The session changes depending on the answer.

02

A few key frames in mind. Then we read the room.

I prepare what I can: venue research, the day’s light, a small set of frames I want to make. When plans shift, I shift with them. Direction by conversation, not command. You won’t realize you’re posing.

03

A first look the same day. The full edit when it’s ready.

Five to ten edited frames in your inbox before you go to sleep, because the people who matter to you want to see something now. Full delivery on a timeline that matches the work: about a week for portraits, two to four weeks for weddings and events. Big jobs get the time they deserve.

Four kinds of work

Portraits first.
Everything else, second.

The studio leans into portrait and event work: branding sessions, families, grads, theater, milestones. Weddings are part of the practice but not the headline. Every genre runs the same method, the same first-look-same-day commitment, and the same in-house printing options when you’re ready.

From the camera
to your hallway.

Most photographers hand off a gallery and disappear. Crashing Elegance walks the work the rest of the way. Wall-art prints come off the studio’s own Canon Pro-1100 on archival Red River papers. Albums are built with a trusted bookmaker. Framing is sourced and shipped. You stay in conversation with the photographer until everything is on your wall.

One contact, end to end. No digital-folder hand-off.

South Congress, the butterfly bridge, the trails under Lamar, Brushy Creek, San Gabriel. Most clients get a personalized location shortlist after the pre-call. These are a few that have been hard to forget.

Tell me about the day.

Most consultations are fifteen minutes, by phone or video. I’ll come back with availability, a quote, and a sketch of how I’d approach it, usually within a day or two.
